In the attached submission. Cycle Kirklees has commented in detail on the latest consultation for the Dewsbury-Batley-Chidswell travel corridor. Linear sections of this route, especially on Bradford Road are great improvements on the current situation for people cycling. Only limited improvements are planned for people walking, particularly at minor junctions.

Colne Valley Greenway extended to Slaithwaite
Kirklees Council has recently launched the 2nd stage of consultations on the Dewsbury-Batley-Chidswell corridor. This corridor aims to enable more cycling and walking from Dewsbury ring road to Batley Railway Station along Bradford Road and then up to Chidswell via Challenge Way and Grange Road.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal Path.
Over the summer an upgrade to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal Path was completed as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authoriy’s City Connect program. This was officially opened earlier in September (see separate report).
