Cycling and Walking Conference – 5th November

The initial programme for “Improving Your Local Walking & Cycling Networks” is now out. The event will run from 10.00 – 13.15 on Saturday 5th November. It will feature speakers on active travel, local case studies of our “greenways” and an overview from Kirklees Council.

We are joining with Huddersfield Civic Society to focus on what is happening locally to expand and improve our network of cycling and walking routes. We also want to discuss how to ensure active travel gets a higher priority to achieve modal shift targets agreed by by the Mayor and Kirklees Council.

A link to Eventbrite for bookings (required) will open in early October. The event is in the centre of Huddersfield at New North Road Baptist Church (built 1972) with an entrance in New North Parade.

There will be displays and networking in the café all day and after lunch HCS will lead an optional guided walk of town centre, and Cycle Kirklees will arrange a self-guided ride. The event is free (pre-booking advisable) but a donation will be requested at the door to cover venue and refreshments costs.
