Access improvements to Huddersfield railway station are clearly needed. We support many of the Huddersfield Connections (Walking & Cycling) proposals but they are only part of the wider issue of access to the town centre as a whole.
Cycle Kirklees submission on Dewsbury town centre supports many of the improvements proposed within the town centre, which we have since discussed with officers.
Cycle Kirtklees appeared at the Public Inquiry into the TransPennine upgrade (Huddersfield to Westtown, Dewsbury) to make the case for improved access for cyclists and pedestrians in the expanded Huddersfield station.
Cycle Kirklees made a detailed response to the Cooper Bridge planned upgrade. Where Kirklees Council’s’ plans included some protection for bicycle riders and with it some improvements we still had concerns.
Cycle Kirklees (KCC) has submitted a detailed response to cycling proposals between Dewsbury, Batley and Chidswell and in Batley town centre. We support changes to streets to promote active travel and help to improve road safety.
